In 1997, Ileana Corban, a graduate of ATCCM (Adelaide Training College of Complementary
Medicines) pondered the development of a multi-purpose skin cream that would be able to provide
soothing relief and promote the restoration of various forms of skin damage, from rashes to minor
burns and wounds.
Ileana was able to use and apply the knowledge gained with her Advanced Diploma in Classical
Homoeopathy. She applied her knowledge of many world wide medicinal plants and their use for
homoeopathic remedies to advance this plan. Her research eventually led to the development, in a
quite revolutionary manner, of a practical, efficient and cost-effective multi-purpose herbal "solution"
that, when blended into an organic base cream, displays all these desirable properties and attributes.
Her research took into account a number of established principles to which she applied her new-found
experiences and to put it quite bluntly, common-sense. Firstly, skin has its own natural regenerative
powers which begin in the womb as skin cells continually replace themselves. When the skin suffers any
form of trauma, these powers are accelerated and healing begins. However, the rate of healing can vary
dramatically between individuals and indeed within an individual, according to many factors including
health, mood and nutrition. But these can mainly be compensated for with a little "help". Secondly,
the homoeopathic principle of there being no "material doses" was addressed by applying "reverse
engineering" based upon the factual results of Universal Herbal Medicine, data and records from the
British Herbal Pharmacopoeia and applying the results of her own extensive experimentation to
validate her own hypotheses. Thirdly, her detailed studies over the years in her own Clinic of
Homoeopathic Medicine, on her own patients with damaged skin, enabled her to develop her own
formulation. This formulation has been improved continuously, then perfected and tested successfully on
males and females, from the very young to the very old, over her many years as a health practitioner.
Finally, in 2005, when she was at last fully satisfied with the results, the finished product was Listed on
the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods by the Therapeutic Goods Administration: Skinfix
Organic Herbal Cream. Her work did not however stop there, as over the years, she has been able to
develop a number of other related broad-spectrum cosmetic skincare products which are largely
appreciated as much in Australia as other parts of the world.
